Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a taeguk on top of a black chess-rook with a gold cable encircling the chess-rook diagonally and horizontally and rising behind and on top of the taeguk, all above and between a gold scroll bearing the motto WE PROVIDE in black letters.

Symbolism
The heraldic chess-rook representing a medieval stronghold symbolizes the former units basic mission of logistics in the details of transport, quartering and supply of military personnel.  The taeguk refers to service in Korea.  The cable encircling the chess-rook simulates the Korean numeral 2 and alludes to the organizations numerical designation.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 2d Logistical Command on 7 August 1968.  It was redesignated for the 2d Support Center with the description and symbolized revised on 7 June 1993.
